Ms. Bonnie Broel, Countess, author and designer has created a legacy that extends beyond her expertise in design. She bagan her career by making custom dresses for clients at her original location at 1507 St. Charles Avenue, in 1972 she purchased 2220 St. Charles Avenue and restored it to its former glory. In 1992, Ms. Broel began dedicating the first floor of her mansion to wedding receptions offering her clients a historic home atmosphere for their special day.
Her contributions to the fashion industry have not gone unnoticed, with Ms. Broel being awarded the International "ROSE" Award for Retailer of Style and Excellence in 1991 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Fashion Group International in 1992.
Guided tours of the plantation style mansion, dollhouse museum and fashion musem are available where you will hear tales of her fascinating family history (which includes the story of her father's frog farm) and enjoy listening to the amazing tales of her mansion, miniatures, frogs and fashion.
