Ms. Broel started her business in New
Orleans over 35 years ago by making dresses to order for her
clients. This came easy to a woman who could sew before she
learned to write. After buying her first re-orderable dress
line, the rest became fashion history. Moving from a small
store on St. Charles Avenue, she purchased a sadly neglected
antebellum mansion further up the street and restored the home
to its previous majesty.
In
1980,
after having her own wedding and
reception in
the house, Bonnie Broel decided to dedicate the entire first
floor of the mansion to her many clients who wanted that same
kind of historic home atmosphere for their
weddings. |

In 1991, Bonnie Broel was the first to be
awarded the International "ROSE" Award (Retailer of Style and
Excellence) and in 1992 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award
from Fashion Group International for her contribution to the fashion
industry.
A life-long desire was fulfilled in 1997 when Ms.
Broel became an ordained interfaith minister. She now performs a
caring and romantic ceremony for those couples requesting her
services.
She is presently writing an
inspirational book entitled "From Passion to Peace" in which she
shares many of her amazing life discoveries through tales of her noble family and her historic New Orleans Garden District home.
