Enter the magical wonderland of an extensive dollhouse collection that was personally designed and decorated by Bonnie Broel, artist, author and Polish Countess, over a period of fifteen years.

The enchanting collection of 60 historically accurate scale model mansions, houses, shops and vignettes filled with elaborately costumed action figures and decor includes an English manor house, an antebellum plantation, a sweet shop, and a 28 room Russian palace. The Palace is 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide, and covers almost an entire wall of the second floor hallway. It is filled with rich tapestries, romantic paintings, fine wall coverings, ornate furniture and period-dressed dolls. The faux Fabergé eggs and spiral staircases remind us of a time before the Russian Revolution, the early 1900’s. Also featured are charming Victorian homes, an Asian art shop, a Baronial hall and the smallest house of all, a fairy hut complete with lace curtains.

The museum also holds an exhibit dedicated to the Louisiana Frog Farm created by Bonnie Broel's father. Frog legs were a delicacy in Europe and Mr. Albert Broel-Plater came up with an idea to make them a big success in the United States. The exhibit features canned frog leg labels, pictures of the Louisiana Frog Farm location, and the story of his success.

Our future hopes for the museum are to finish the development of our "Fashion through the Decades" exhibit which will feature bridal gowns and clothing dating back to the early 1900’s. Foundation proceeds will help make this dream a reality.

Testimonials

All the tourists love your creations and the "fairy tale" world you have created.
Charlene – New Orleans Tour Guide

We wouold like to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. My husband Bill, our daughter Anna (11 years old), and I had the opportunity to see your home on July 20th. Our daughter was, of course, enchanted with the doll houses. Your staff is most gracious.
With Regards,
Sharon, Bill, and Anna Gostylo – Waltham, Maine

Hello, I recently read the article about your beautiful miniatures and rooms in the "Country Victorian" magazine. I had not been "educated" on things in the miniature world until my sister opened my eyes (she collects and builds) but I can't help but hope and pray that you are safe and well, in light of the recent terrible disaster, Katrina. What a helpless feeling, for those of us so far away from all the destruction, to "find" a lovely home, and business, and now not know if you survived the awful events of recent. I'm sending prayers your way and sincerely hope you did somehow manage to escape Katrina's wrath. I enjoyed reading about your many years of beautiful work and hope it and your home were not destroyed.
Wishing you safety and health,
A reader in South Florida, Sylvia Snell
